Project Overview

Care About Climate’s NDC Equity Tracker provides both a platform and key education structures for international youth to develop local analysis, criticism, and suggestions for growth on their countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions (or NDCs).

This project highlights our youth corps’ unique knowledge of country-specific circumstances, elevates voices frequently underrepresented in international policy, and implements the “Common but Differentiated Responsibilities and Respective Capabilities” framework of the Paris Agreement.

Our work produces concrete recommendations for how countries can improve their commitments, and provides an international platform to highlight the experiences of vulnerable populations. The platform also provides needed information for the general public (like you!) to use in interactions with their own governments.

Our NDC analysis project is spearheaded by CAAP (Climate Advocacy and Accountability in Policy), our program that specializes in all things UNFCCC, COP, and Climate Negotiations. Portions of the project (specifically, gender-focused and feminist NDC analyses) were co-led with EmpoderaClima, our women and gender justice platform. All youth analysts were mentored through our Climate Ambassadors program.
